Why these are different
1.5 mm wall steel, TIG welded. The frame is the part that fails first on a cheap kart, and it fails at the rear axle mount, because that joint takes the full lateral load every time the back steps out. Ours is 1.5 mm wall tube, TIG welded continuously, gusseted at that joint, rated to 250 lb on adult models and 130 lb on the Cadet line.
Batteries you can replace, not landfill. Every pack is a serviceable module with a standard XT90 connector. When it ages out in three or four years, you buy a pack rather than a kart. Replacement packs are listed on this site at a real price, which is the single question worth asking any drift kart seller before you buy.
Rear slide is engineered, not accidental. The rear wheels run hardened polymer slide sleeves with a controlled coefficient of friction. That is why the breakaway point is the same on lap fifty as on lap one, which is what makes the behaviour learnable. Swap the sleeves in about five minutes for more grip or less.
Parts stocked in the US. Controllers, throttles, sleeves, hubs, chargers and packs ship from our warehouse. If we cannot fix a kart with a part, the warranty covers the kart.
Electric drift karts built around the rider
A drift kart is a low-slung go-kart with a rear axle meant to break traction. Instead of gripping through a corner, the back end steps out and you hold the slide on throttle and counter-steer. It is the cheapest genuine car-control practice that exists, and on a sealed surface it is closer to real drifting than any simulator.
The category has a problem. Almost everything sold as a drift kart is rated for a rider under 140 lb, which excludes most of the adults buying one. Frames are thin-wall tube spot welded at the corners. Packs are sealed units with proprietary connectors, so when the pack dies the kart is scrap. YAWKART exists to fix those three things.
Adult drift karts
Our adult drift karts are rated to 250 lb and run 48V or 72V. The Ripcord R1 at 25 mph is the right kart for a warehouse, a large driveway or a closed lot, and it is where most first-time adult buyers should start. The Ripcord R3 is a 72V dual motor kart reaching 40 mph, sensible only on a large sealed surface with runoff. Both share a chassis and a parts bin, so anything you learn or buy carries over.
Kids and teen drift karts
The kids line is not a shrunk adult kart. Seat position, steering ratio and pedal reach are set for a smaller body, and both models have three speed modes with a limiter a parent sets and a child cannot override from the seat. The Cadet 24 suits roughly age 8 to 12 and the Cadet 36 suits 12 to 16, though weight and confidence decide it more than birthday.
Electric go-karts beyond drifting
Not everyone wants to slide. The electric go-kart range includes grip-setup wheels for every model, and the Torque T2 is an off-road kart with knobby tires, longer travel and 60V of torque for grass, gravel and hardpack dirt.

Common questions
How fast do drift karts go?
Kids models run 8 to 14 mph. Adult electric drift karts typically run 20 to 30 mph, and high-voltage models like our 72V R3 reach 40 mph. Speed matters less than surface: 25 mph on a slick warehouse floor feels faster than 40 mph on open asphalt.
Are drift karts street legal?
In almost every US state, no. A drift kart has no VIN, no lighting package and no DOT tires, so it cannot be registered for public roads. Private property, closed lots with permission, and tracks are where they belong.
What age is a drift kart for?
Our Cadet 24 is rated from age 8, the Cadet 36 from 12, and adult karts from 16 with the R3 restricted to 18 and up. Rider weight and the space you have matter as much as age.
What surface do I need?
Smooth and sealed. Polished concrete, an indoor court, fresh asphalt or a sealed parking lot. Rough asphalt eats slide sleeves quickly, and grass or gravel needs the off-road setup instead.
Can I ride in the rain?
No. All models are splash resistant, not waterproof, and a wet slick surface removes what little rear grip you have. Store indoors.
How long does the battery last?
45 to 75 minutes of mixed riding depending on model and rider weight. Charge time is 4 to 6 hours on the included charger. Packs are user-replaceable and sold separately.
