Slide sleeves need a hard, smooth surface to work against. On grass, gravel and dirt they dig in instead of sliding, which is why a drift kart on a field is a disappointing machine.
The T2 solves loose ground the way loose ground should be solved. Knobby tires front and rear, raised ride height, real suspension travel, a sealed drivetrain that tolerates dust and grit, and 2,000 W on 60V for the low-speed torque that loose surfaces demand.
Anyone whose realistic riding area is a field, a gravel drive, a dirt track or firm grass. That is a large group, and buying a drift kart and fighting the surface is the common mistake.
If you have access to sealed concrete or asphalt, buy a Ripcord instead. This is not a compromise between the two, it is a different tool.
Easier than on concrete, not harder, and it feels different.
On a sealed surface you need sleeves to artificially reduce rear grip. On gravel or hardpack dirt the surface itself is the low-friction layer, so the rear steps out with far less provocation. What you need instead is enough traction to drive out of the slide, which is exactly what a knobby tire provides.
Drifting on concrete is precise and repeatable, with a clear breakaway point you calibrate against. Drifting on dirt is looser, more physical, and the surface changes as you carve it up over a session. Most riders have a strong preference one way or the other.
Hardpack dirt. The best of the loose surfaces. Enough grip to drive, enough looseness to slide.
Gravel, fine. Works well. Larger loose stone is harder on tires and gets thrown.
Firm grass. Good when dry. Slick and unpredictable when wet, and it tears up ground, which matters if it is someone’s field.
Firm damp sand. Excellent. Loose dry sand bogs the kart and loads the motor heavily.
Mud and standing water. No. This is splash resistant, not waterproof.
The main risk here is not a slide going wrong, it is a wheel dropping into a rut at 28 mph. Loose surfaces hide ruts, rocks and holes.
Walk the area first, every time you ride somewhere new. A field that was fun in June can be rutted in September after a farm vehicle has been through. There is no equivalent to a flat empty lot’s forgiveness, and trees do not move.
Ships assembled and crated. Charge fully, check the fasteners on the torque card, set the seat, and check tire pressures. Off-road tire pressure is a genuine tuning tool: lower pressure gives more grip on loose ground and more risk of rolling the tire on the rim in a hard turn.
Clean the drivetrain after dusty sessions. The drivetrain is sealed, and sealed means it tolerates grit rather than that grit is irrelevant.
Tires, rather than slide sleeves. Life depends heavily on surface, and running knobbies on concrete is the fastest way to destroy them.

Yes, on loose ground, and it is easier than drifting on concrete because the surface provides the slide. What you need is enough traction to drive out of it, which is what knobby tires give you.
Ground clearance and suspension travel. A drift chassis sits low with little travel, so on uneven ground the frame contacts the ground and the wheels leave it where you need them planted.
Splash resistant, not waterproof. The drivetrain is sealed against dust and grit, which is a different requirement. Avoid mud and standing water.
